#1 A good Internet connection is critical for successful VOIP implementation (From Fonality) –  Isn’t this true? How many times have we seen IP Telephony providers talk endlessly about all the features they have in their system and not bother to even know what kind of Internet connectivity we have? The type/reliability of Internet connection, bandwidth, latency, jitter and other such factors are very critical for a successful VOIP implementation. When it comes to VOIP, always buy higher bandwidth than you need, says this blog post from Fonality. There is some good analysis of the WAN connectivity parameters and how it affects the voice quality over the Internet.

#2 Workload Mobility between Data Centers (from EMC)  – Chuk’s blog is always interesting to read. Even though he writes long posts and writes about EMC products, there is a lot of information in them and he somehow makes the reader read the whole thing! If companies want to move their applications and data between two data centers and make them available at both the places, they might want to look at something that can do more than Virtual Machine Migration. #3 Dell has announced support for the upcoming Windows 2012 Server (from Dell) – Dell has come out with an early adopter guide for Windows 2012 server on Dell’s hardware platform. Dell is also releasing a reference architecture for Desktop Virtualization with Windows 2012 Server, this week. You can read more about Dell and Windows 2012 Server from this blog post. By the way, Windows 2012 Server is also expected to get released this week.

#4 Bosch releases seven new cameras for its advantage line series (from Bosch) – The Advantage line series of cameras (both analog/IP) from Bosch is primarily for small businesses, schools, shops and other such smaller establishments. Bosch has announced that they have launched seven new cameras in this series that include compact cameras, domes, HD and IR supported models. Have a look at this blog post for more.

#5 Office 365 will be Microsoft’s fastest growing product next year? (from Riverbed) – That’s what Microsoft hopes and Riverbed feels that adoption of Office 365 will be a very big thing for IT. One key enabler to cloud-based office productivity suites is the network and Riverbed claims that their Steelhead cloud accelerator is ready for it. Read more from this Riverbed blog post.

#6 Suse cloud on Openstack with Dell Crowbar (from Dell/Suse) – Crowbar is an open source based enterprise cloud enabling tool developed by Dell and Suse cloud will leverage the Crowbar framework, says this blog post.
