Premium 2D Animation Software (Moho Pro 12.5) is currently on SALE at Humble Bundle for $30 USD. Considering that the next version of this software (Moho Pro 13) is listed at $399 USD on their website, this is a great deal.

I bought this deal and I have been learning this software for more than a week now. I am very impressed with its capabilities. I am not entirely new to 2D animation, I have been working with a beginner 2D animation software for almost a year now.

Moho Pro is an intermediate-level 2D animation software that has been used by professionals to create broadcast-quality shows and movies. However, like any software with myriad features, it takes a lot of time to learn, practice, and use it to the fullest of its capabilities. It’s not easy, but it enables you to do wonderful animations with time and effort.

In this blog post, I will let you know the key functionalities of Moho Pro 12.5 that has impressed me very much. In a way, this is a review of Moho Pro 12.5. Click here if you want to know more about the latest version – Moho Pro 13.

a. 2D Digital Drawing

It’s not just a great time saver, but having 2D digital drawing features within 2D animation software enables many things that I never thought possible. For instance, you can draw a shape using a few points on frame 1 & change the location and curvature of the points on frame 24. Congrats, you’ve just created an animation that transforms from the initial shape to the new shape!

b. Rigging

Rigging characters is very important to create impressive 2D animation. In Moho, you can do simple rigging of characters using a few bones. Or you can create a complex rig using smart bone dials, dynamic bones, target bones, switch layers, etc. Flexibility in rigging is one of the key strengths of Moho Pro.

c. 2D Animation

Of course, 2D animation software needs to be able to do 2D animation. Moho Pro 12.5 not only does it with style, but gives you advanced features that will make your animation look premium and attractive. There is a full-fledged graph editor that will give life to your movements quickly. Almost every element in this tool – including colors and gradients, are animatable. No doubt, the best animation features are for the bones (characters) – I am impressed with the character animations I can do with this software. You can use this software to not just display elements in 2.5D, but you can also animate them in 2.5D (z-axis).

d. Special Visual Effects

Animating Lines? Yes, Smoke? Yes, Rain? Yes, Particles? Yes, Basic Physics for Objects? Yes, Glows & Inner Shadows? Yes. Trust me, I canceled my subscription to Adobe After Effects as Moho Pro 12.5 has most of the essential effects (not all) I used to apply in post with AE, right within the software. Isn’t that cool?

Frankly, Moho Pro 12.5, although a slightly older version, does the job of three different tools I was using earlier – Affinity Designer (Drawing), Cartoon Animator (2D Animation) & After Effects (Visual Effects).

All this, at just $30 USD. If you are lucky to see this post while this deal is still valid, I suggest you don’t waste any more time and buy it now. At the time of writing this post, the HumbleBundle page says the deal is valid for eleven more days, but they sometimes extend the deal, so you might get lucky even if you are reading this post later.

The latest version of this software (Moho Pro 13) is selling for $399 and it is worth every cent at that price. This older version (12) is available at one-fourth of that price at other places on the Internet – just do a google search and you’ll find it. The older version (Moho Pro 12.5) is a great option even if the Humble Bundle deal is over when you read this article.
