Free Games to Teach Kids about Business & Money
One complaint that parents have is that their kids play too many online games just for entertainment, and some of them are even violent.
But let’s face the fact – kids will keep playing games, just like we did when we were younger. Instead of trying to stop them, why not guide them to play games that teach kids a thing or two about business and money?
Nowadays, I see many young child entrepreneurs starting a business venture while they are still at school. Some of them are even exploring staffing their business and getting funded!
So it’s important to teach kids about business and money at a very young age. Although they might not become a Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, they’ll learn the difficulty of earning money and might spend money a bit more responsibly.
Why not introduce kids to the world of business and money through their favorite medium – Online Games?

#1. Cooking Street Online Game
This game teaches kids the basics of running a shop. Kids can learn how to prepare the right combination of the ordered food and deliver it on time to customers. If they deliver, they are rewarded with money. If they don’t the customer becomes disgruntled and walks away. Kids should aim to make as much money as possible and run the retail store business without disappointing many customers.

#2. Real Estate Tycoon Online Game
How does a real estate tycoon make money? By buying properties when the price is low, and selling them when the price is high – right? That’s exactly that this game is about. Various homes appear on the screen along with their current pricing. The pricing keeps changing in real-time. Kids should try to buy properties at a low cost and sell them at as high a price as possible. After the first couple of minutes, this game is quite challenging to play – even for adults!

#3. Twin the Bin Online Game
Twin the Bin is a game intended to teach environmental consciousness to kids by recycling the right waste products at the right place. They make money everytime they “catch” the right type of waste (from plastic, glass, organic, etc.) and send it to the recycling facility. The goal is to catch the right type of waste – as much as possible within the stipulated time. Identifying and moving the bin to the right location quickly is the challenge.

#4. Office Fight Online Game
Office Fight is more of a fun game. Here, your job is to hit as many colleagues as possible with papers and other stationery items. Of course, some of them will also carry stationary products and will try to hit you. The goal is to hit them before they hit you. I think, this game also aims to teach the basics of office politics subtly 😉 Since colleagues keep appearing simultaneously, and some of them from far away, it can become a challenge to hit them all before you lose your energy. Adults with grudges on their office colleagues (read: everyone) can also play this game to reduce their tension.

#5. Tower Boom Online Game
Tower Boom is a strategy game in which kids learn to demolish a tower with bombs, as efficiently as possible. They have limited number of bombs for each scene, and they need to decide where best to place them in order to bring/blast the structure below a certain height level. A game like this will enable kids to develop strategies to improve efficiency.

#6. Wind and Solar Online Game
The objective of Wind and Solar is simple – 1. To move the solar panel out of shade and rain to generate electricity, 2. To increase or decrease the height of the wind turbine to catch the wind. In spite of how simple it seems, the game is actually quite difficult to play. This requires good hand-eye coordination and can be difficult with so much of shade, rain and wind all around. And yes, this game will also introduce your kids to renewable energy which might inspire them to move towards cleaner sources of fuel in the future.
